How to Stay Fit and Healthy This Summer—Even with Vacations and Crazy Schedules

Alright my friends, let’s talk SUMMER! Sunshine, road trips, backyard BBQs, family getaways, and of course—schedule chaos. Sound familiar?

Now, I love summer as much as anyone. It’s a season of fun, freedom, and a chance to explore new places. But here’s the deal—just because your routine’s out of whack doesn’t mean your fitness and health have to be.

In fact, this is the perfect time to prove to yourself that you can stay strong, energized, and consistent, no matter what life throws at you.

So how do you stay on track while also enjoying life to the fullest?

Let’s break it down, Tony-style.

1. Make Movement Non-Negotiable

You don’t need a full gym or a 60-minute block to get results. You need commitment and a little creativity. You’ve heard me say it before—just show up.

That might mean 15 minutes of bodyweight moves on your hotel balcony, a hike with the family, or my favorite—beasting through one of my quick “no equipment needed” Power Nation workouts. Movement is medicine, my friends.

Try my “Summer 7”:

  • 10 push-ups

  • 20 air squats

  • 30 jumping jacks

  • 20 lunges

  • 15 sit-ups

  • 30-second plank

  • 1-minute jog (in place or outside)

Repeat 2-3 times and BOOM—you’ve got yourself a mini sweat session you can do anywhere.

2. Hydrate Like It’s Your Job

Hot temps, extra activity, and travel can drain your system fast. Dehydration messes with your energy, digestion, and even your mood.

Keep a water bottle on you at all times. Add lemon, mint, or a pinch of sea salt if you want to level up. And remember—if you’re thirsty, you’re already behind.

3. Dial in the Nutrition Without the Guilt

Yes, you’re on vacation. Yes, you can enjoy the local food. No, you don’t have to go off the rails.

Stick to the rule of 3:

  • Eat clean 80% of the time

  • Stay consistent with protein and veggies

  • Avoid the “what the hell” spiral after one indulgent meal

You’re human. You’re allowed to enjoy a margarita or a slice of pie. Just don’t let it turn into five days of junk that make you feel like garbage.

4. Sleep Like a Champion

Late nights around the campfire are awesome. So are early morning sunrises. But don’t underestimate the power of good sleep.

Your body needs it to recover, especially with the extra heat and activity. Aim for 7–8 hours—even if it means sneaking in a nap between adventures.

5. Have FUN and Stay Flexible

Fitness isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being consistent. You’re not failing if your workouts look different this month.

You’re winning because you’re showing up for yourself—no matter where you are or what you’ve got going on.

This summer, choose progress over perfection. Choose movement over excuses. Choose health over habit.

Stay strong, stay silly, and stay sweaty.

Bring It!
